I am a Two-Spirit trans visual artist born and raised on the lands of the Tsq̓éscen̓ First Nation in BC's southern interior. I moved to lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ territories in 2019 to attend the University of Victoria, and since graduating with a BFA in 2024, I have been lucky to create art, work, and make many cherished connections upon these lands.
I am nêhiyaw and mixed European through both sides of my family. I am an enrolled member of Cowessess First Nation in Saskatchewan (Treaty 4) and have Irish ancestry through my father. My mother's side of the family come from Tallcree First Nation in northern Alberta (Treaty 8) and Ukraine. My family, ancestry, and lived experience as a mixed Indigenous person disconnected from my ancestral territories are dear to me and are often reflected in my artistic practice.
My work includes painting, illustration, and digital media. The origins of my artistic practice are with my maternal grandparents, who are artists themselves, and the love of comic books and graphic novels shared by my father. I use bold lines, bright colours, and stylized forms to convey sensations of movement, transformation, and emotion.
